JHS Pedals - Crimson

JHS Pedals - Crimson

Continuing with the Legends of Fuzz series, here is the JHS Crimson. This pedal is based off of the famed and extremely rare Mike Matthews Red Army Overdrive. The Red Army Overdrive is another iteration of the Electro Harmonix Big Muff and was released in the nineties, but under a different moniker since Matthews no longer owned the Big Muff trademarks. The pedal was manufactured in St. Petersburg, Russia after Matthews struck a deal with an ex-soviet manufacturer. It was officially called the Red Army Overdrive by Sovtek and quickly caught the attention of many gear enthusiasts. The wizards at JHS Pedals were able to faithfully recreate the magic of the Mike Matthews pedal and now offer it as part of their Legends of Fuzz line along with the Smiley, Supreme, and previously reviewed Bender.

In this demo, Ken Rose of the band, Hero Jr. will show you all that this pedal can do by using a variety of instruments like a Les Paul, Stratocaster, Telecaster, and even an Epiphone Jack Casady bass. You’ll soon realize, like many did in the nineties, that this pedal will be a staple on your pedalboard going forward.
